Mr. Baseball's Power Rankings Vol.3
05/01/08 - Out of respect for the originator of these columns, Mr. Gammonz, I was going to take a week of silence… Peter decided to step down because of time issues. From my understanding he simply didn’t have the time available that it takes to put together a well thought out article that would live up to his high standard of reporting. There was a mix between his straight forward messages to his comedy we all grew to love over the years. He was one of the few that could make you upset at what he was saying and admire him for it at the same time. We were peasants in his empire of thought. For the anger, joy and intellect brought to us, we thank you! See you on the field...More
Flip Caray's - Central Agenda - Vol.3

The highly anticipated #1 vs. #2 matchup between the White Sox and Firebirds never took place, as Mother Nature wiped out over half of the schedule. But that didn’t stop a Central League *shocker* from shaking up Volume 3 of the Power Rankings...More

Cruk's Korner - National Rankings Vol. 3
Mother Nature threatened to wash out the entire weekend, but she held up and only prevented one game from being played. There were a few teams that opened up a can of whoop butt on their opponents and there were a few pitchers duels this past weekend. I have to say that I am upset that the Scorpions Matt Mitchell missed his opportunity at his 15th straight victory and it looks like he will have to beat the Marlins again to get it..More

Gammonz Retires
04/30/08 - Today, with great sadness, Peter Gammonz announced his resignation from his "Diamond Notes" column. Mr. Gammonz  cited responsibilities outside of baseball and their impact on his time as primary causes for his decision..."the time that it takes to bring you a decent article just isn't there anymore" said Gammonz.

MSL Diamond Notes and the Power Rankings were conceived by Peter Gammonz, and he was the original columnist at Midwest Suburban League. Originally, Gammonz’s columns ranked all of the teams in the entire League; later his writings were exclusively for the Central League as he made room for other aspiring authors.

Gammonz was a tremendous example of impartial criticism of the various teams. His fairness in his writings made it difficult to get mad at Gammonz even when your team was not painted in a favoring light. Gammonz was never uncomfortable in his role and he understood his stature and importance in MSL media never flaunting it to others.

We am surprised as anyone about Peter's decision, but I know that in the last couple years his time has become more and more limited making it difficult to continue his column. Gammonz truly enjoyed the work, and this decision to step down must have been extremely difficult, but he wisely chose to spend more time with his young family and still have time for his own personal pursuits on the field.

Thank you Peter for the time you spent giving us pleasure and enjoyment through your columns over these past six years. You will be missed. A spot is always open for you should you find a change of heart.
